Obituary For Agapito Bernal
Agapito Bernal, Jr. 97, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
Mr. Bernal was born May 5, 1923 in La Mota Ranch located in Monclova Coahuila, Mexico.
He married the love of his life, Graciela Diaz in 1947 in Nuevo Laredo Tamaulipas, Mexico. Mr. Bernal came to reside in Laredo, Texas in 1967. Some of his most impactful passions were horses, play the accordion and all his life he clothed cowboy style.
Mr. Bernal is preceded in death by his parents, Agapito Bernal and Eloisa Fuentez; son, Mario Bernal; grandson, Richard Ayala; great-grandson Benjamin Garza; siblings, Cleotilde Bernal, Pura Bernal, Santiago Bernal, Domingo Bernal, Santos Ruiz, Amandina Flores and Jose Bernal.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 73 years of marriage, Graciela Diaz de Bernal; his children, Laura (Bernardo) Garza, Maria Teresa (Luis) Macias, Nora (Mike) Fryman, Ismael (Ma Elena) Bernal and Sonia (Juan) Hernandez; 12 grandchildren, Cesar (Kathy) Garza, Mario (Heather) Garza, Graciela (Anibal) Lazo, Mario Bernal Jr, Luis Macias Jr, Monica Bernal, Jesus Bernal, Margarita (James) Shabazz, Veronica Bernal, Erika (Nathan) Riley, Marcella (Michael) Kuske and Daniella Rodriguez; 11 great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Shabazz, Julian Trevino, Bianca Ayala, Vanessa Ayala, Andres Garza, Cassandra Lazo, Mateo Garza, Emilia Garza, Max Shabazz, Nicholas Garza and Golden Macias; sisters, Maria Luisa Santos and Maria del Refugio Sanchez; daughter-in-law; Teresa Bernal, numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, where a prayer service will start at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from the funeral home to Holy Redeemer Church. Funeral mass will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow immediately at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cesar Garza, Mario Bernal, Jr., Luis Macias Jr., Anibal Lazo, Nathan Riley and Michael Kuske.
Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, 802 Coke St. Laredo, TX 78040. Condolences can be expressed to the family online at www.nietofuneral.com.
