Antonio Gomez was born on March 24, 1923 in Laredo, Texas and passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the age of 87. Mr. Gomez was preceded in death by his parents; Paulino and Lucia Gomez; and sisters; Marcelina Hawkins and Juana Herrera. He is survived by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Gomez and their children: Antonio (Manuela) Gomez, Jr. Roberto (Benita) Gomez, Paulino (Manuela) Gomez, Arturo (Juana) Gomez, Jane (+Herb) Schwager, Miguel (Carmen) Gomez, Alejandro (Theresa) Gomez and Francisco Gomez. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 4pm to 9pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory to San Luis Rey Church. Holy mass will commence at 8:30 am. Interment will immediately follow to the City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be; Miguel A. Gomez, Jr., Roberto Gomez, Jr., Alex Gomez, Paulino Gomez, Jr., Hank Schwager, Antonio Gomez, Jr. Juan Francisco Gomez and Arturo Gomez.
