Antonio Palacios, 91, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his residence in the company of his beloved family. Antonio was born February 17, 1923 in Rancho Blanco to Gregorio and Angelina Palacios. He attended Escuela Central Amarilla in Laredo, Tx. He worked from 12 yrs to 17 yrs of age in Agriculture fields for Normen Clark. He worked for 47 years till his retirement in 1988 for Anzon American Inc. He was vice president for the labor union at Anzon American. He will always be known for his sense of humor and great love for his family. Antonio is preceded in death by his parents: Gregorio and Angelina Palacios, his wife of 36 years of marriage Maria Petra Palacios, his mother in law Catalina H. Almaguer, his brother Pablo Palacios, his sister Maria Estela Lopez, his brother in law Rogelio Castro and daughter Maria P. Benavidez. He is survived by his sons and daughters: Noe (Maria Estela) Palacios, Jose Luis Palacios, Maria A. Palacios, Veronica (Pedro) Amaro, Leticia (Arturo) Flores and Lucila Palacios; brother Jose (Belia) Palacios and sisters Margarita Catches, Teresa Castro, Manuela (Antonio) Reyes and Alicia (Guillermo) Sanches; son in law, Francisco Benavidez and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren , Noe (Maribel) Palacios, Jr., Cristela (Miguel) Ibarra, Pedro (Marissa) Amaro, Jr., Laura (Hilario) Gonzalez, Jr., Ramiro Amaro and Arturo Flores, Jr.; 9 great grandchildren, Ashley Palacios, Antonio and Mia Ibarra, Peter III and Mateo Amaro, Alejandro Amaro, Kiara and Karolina Gonzalez and Layla Amaro. He will be missed deeply as the days go by, leaving ford memories in our hearts. The Palacios family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Benson Huang, Dr. Ricardo Cigarroa, Doctor's Hospital ICU Section B night & day staff, 3rd floor 323 RM section night & day staff as well as Altus Hospice Services for their dedication and care for our father. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2014, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, from the funeral home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 8:30 am. Interment will follow immediately in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
