Antonio Saavedra, Sr., 89, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2007. Mr. Saavedra was a loving, caring father and grandfather to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Margarita Saavedra, sons: Armando Saavedra and Ramiro Saavedra, daughters: Maria Concepcion Saavedra and Maria de la Luz Hernandez, daughters-in-law: Graciela Saavedra and Nilda Saavedra, granddaughter: Laura Saavedra, grandson: Jorge Ortiz. Mr. Saavedra is survived by his children: Maria Luisa (Pedro) Palizo, Antonio Saavedra, Jr., Eusebio (Irma) Saavedra, Santa (Fernando) Castaneda, Jose T. Saavedra, Carlos Saavedra and David Saavedra, 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the medical staff at Doctor’s Hospital 3rd floor, ICU and to Dr. Winder Vasquez. Mr. Saavedra will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Friday, November 2, 2007 from 4pm to 9pm at Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2007 from Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home to San Agustin Cathedral. Holy Mass will be celebrated in the morning. Interment will follow to the City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home, 802 Coke St.
