Beatriz Gaona, 91, of Laredo, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born and raised in Laredo, Beatriz devoted her life to her family and to her Catholic faith, which guided her every step. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benjamin Gaona, with whom she shared many cherished years.

Beatriz is lovingly remembered by her sons, Benjamin Gaona Jr., Lupe Gaona, and Daughter Beatriz Perez; her son-in-law, Anastacio Perez Jr.; and her treasured grandchildren, Anastacio Perez III, Maria-Beatriz Perez, Angelo Perez, and Brizza Perez. Her brother, Manuel Costilla Jr., and her sister, Consuelo Hernandez.

Each of them carries with them the lessons of patience, kindness, and selflessness that she so gracefully lived by Known for her loving and charismatic spirit, Beatriz filled her days with the simple joys that brought her happiness. She had a passion for crocheting, often gifting her creations to those she loved. She also enjoyed coloring and reading, activities that reflected her peaceful and thoughtful nature. More than anything, she found her greatest joy in being with her family—sharing her love, offering guidance, and nurturing them with unwavering devotion.

Her legacy is one of love, patience, charisma, and selflessness. She taught her family the value of faith, the strength of kindness, and the importance of caring for others. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched and the many hearts she uplifted.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funerals & Cremations, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Services will continue on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass at 10:00 am.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery.
