Obituary For Bertha A. Martinez

Bertha A. Martinez, 78, entered into eternal rest Monday, January 21, 2019, in Austin, Texas.

Mrs. Martinez was born in Anahuac, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and raised in Laredo, Texas. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother.

The fact that you're no longer here will always cause me pain but you're forever in my heart until we meet again.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Guadalupe Martinez, Sr., son; Guadalupe "Pelon" Martinez, Jr., parents; Alfonzo and Paula Avalos and her siblings, Enrique Avalos, Alfonzo Avalos, Arturo Avalos, Consuelo Duran, Miguel Hector Avalos, Irene Zuniga and Alfredo Avalos.

Mrs. Martinez is survived by her, children; Arturo (Maria) Martinez, Gloria Martinez, Diana (Albert) Alba, Bertha (Carl) Miller, Marina (David) Settle, Christine (Jesus Noe) Quijano and Priscilla N. Mancha, numerous grandchildren, sister; Socorro (Richard) Montgomery; as well as other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 24, 2019, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, January 25, 2019, at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory. A chapel service will officiate at 9:00 am by Pastor Hector Patiño. Interment will immediately follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Arturo Martinez, Carl Miller, Sr., Blas Villarreal, Jr., Gilbert O. Mancha, Jr., Albert Tito Alba Jr., and David Settle III, and Guadalupe Martinez III.

Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, 802 Coke St. Laredo, TX 78040. Condolences can be expressed to the family online at www.nietofuneral.com.
