The Javelina athletic family is saddened by the passing of David. He's one of the all-time best track athletes to compete at Texas A&I and his successes are found throughout the Javelina record book. God bless his family.

Life goes past us with the same speed that you had on the tracks that you graced as a young man forty years ago. I am thankful that I was able to recently rekindle that great friendship we had and that your incredible strength and spirit was still as strong. You ran a good race, my friend. The finish line came up too soon, and I feel the pain of your loss and your true friendship. I can just hear my dad and Sam, and others who shared the love of track and field with you, waiting lovingly, at the greatest finish line; you've finished the race, and what a race it was. You've earned your rest, you did your best. God bless you and your family, all your friends and peace, carnal.
