Edwardo Valdez

July 9, 1972 – April 30, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Edwardo “Eddie” Valdez who died at the age of 49. He was born and raised in Laredo, TX, and called San Antonio, TX home for many years. Eddie was a proud Martin High School graduate. He was an underground locater by profession and a biker by heart.

Eddie enjoyed riding his Harley Street Glide, spending time with his friends and family, telling jokes, cookouts, and eating his favorite food mollejas. Eddie loved to tell a story to anyone that would listen and share his expertise on any subject. He was active in the motorcycle community and involved in their charitable events and fundraisers. He was well known for his sense of humor, loud laughter, big heart, and bear hugs. Despite the difficulties he endured, Eddie was always there any time anyone needed him. Those of us that were lucky to know him feel blessed to have had him in our lives and will miss him tremendously.

Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Elsa Ibarra Valdez.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Lydia Diaz, his pride and joy his daughter Athena Renee Valdez, stepchildren Desiree Lopez, Sean Quinn, Kalia Quinn, Illiana Quinn, father Jerry Valdez, siblings Jerry (Melissa) Valdez, Athena (Ricardo) Cortez, and R. Alexander Mastin, nieces and nephews Bianca Montemayor, Jerry (Leanne) Valdez III, Natalie Valdez, Dominic Cortez, Sebastian Cortez, Cristian Cortez, Devin Martinez and Jerry Valdez IV. He is also survived by many extended family members and numerous brothers and friends in the motorcycle community. He is also survived by his four-legged daughter Jozzy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 7, 2022 at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory located at 802 Coke St. The family will be receiving condolences beginning at 8:00 am and a rosary will be recited at 10:00 am. Procession will depart funeral home at 11:00 am for inurnment at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
