Elena Zapata, 84 entered into eternal rest on, Monday, January 1, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Eulalio Urbina & Maria De Jesus Jaques; husband, Juan Zapata; son, Juan Eulalio Zapata (Rosaura Tovar+); grandsons, Jose Luis Zapata, and Jesus Rodriguez III; great-grandchildren, Amerius JoJo Villafranca, and Siempre Corazon Loran; sister, Aurora Zavala; nephew, Gerardo Zavala.

Elena is survived by her children, Lourdes Zapata-Hernandez (Javier), Carmen Zapata-Roybal (Ricky), Pedro Zapata, Elena Zapata-Loran (Richard), Margarita Zapata-Valadez (Rene); grandchildren, Juan E. Zapata Jr. (Melissa), Juan Antonio Rodriguez, Victoria Hernandez, Rick James Roybal, Robert Lee Roybal, Matthew Ray Roybal (Breanna), Pedro A. Zapata, Joe M. Villafranca, Cassandra Lee Villafranca, Raechell Monique Loran, Rene Valadez Jr., and Jacqueline Valadez; brother, Roberto Urbina; 13 great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, as well as other family and friends who will miss her.

The family will be receiving condolences on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Nieto Funerals & Cremations from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will continue on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where a Mass will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow to the City Cemetery.
