Obituary For Eugenia Sanchez Sandoval

Eugenia Sanchez Sandoval “Wela”, a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to many, was called by the Lord on Thursday, October 6, 2011 after a short illness, and was welcomed in heaven by the love of her life; husband Mauro Sandoval. She was 100. She passed away surrounded by her loving family.? Eugenia Sanchez Sandoval was born May 20, 1911 in Monterrey Mexico. Her parents Benigno and Maria Sanchez had four children: Eugenia, Francisco, Rosa, and Jose. At the age of 2 years old she immigrated to the United States with her family. She along with her family lived in the Colonia Guadalupe Area. At the age of 12 years old her mom passed away and she along with her sister Rosa were left to help take care of the family. In 1938 she married the love of her life; Mauro Sandoval with whom she had 4 children: Mauro, Zoila, Juan & Sylvia. They resided at 1714 Santa Ursula during their marriage. Eugenia was a dedicated and wonderful woman to her husband; Mauro, who prepared wonderful meals and was always in the kitchen making tortillas de arina. She enjoyed having her family gather in her kitchen and making food for them. We were honored with her presence and cherished her every day for being with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild. Mrs. Sandoval is preceded in death by her father and mother: Benigno and Maria Sanchez, brothers; Francisco and Jose, sister; Rosa Lozano, son; Juan Sandoval and her beloved husband; Mauro Sandoval. ?Left behind to celebrate her life and cherish her memories are her children: Mauro (Elia) Sandoval, Zoila (Manuel) Meza, Sylvia (Jose) Garza; grandchildren: Sandra (Baldemar) Sandoval, Cindy (Jose Luis) Martinez, Jackie (Fernando) Ramos, Manuel Jude (Nancy) Meza, Dale Leven, Mauro Emilio Sandoval, Jesse John (Denise) Leven, Enrique Ramon Sandoval, Eliana Sandoval; great grandchildren: Baldemar Mauro Sandoval, Jose Manuel Martinez, Micheal Angel Martinez, Jeffrey Adonis Ramos, Kristina Nicole Ramos, Stacy Maldonado, Audrina Leven, Khloe Leven; great-great-grandson: Joseph Manuel Martinez; nieces: Gloria (Roberto) Guajardo, Minerva(Mauricio) Salazar, Alma (Gilberto) Paredes, Imelda (Frank) Allred; nephew: Jose Luis Lozano; brother-in-law: Hector “Toy” (Delicia) Sandoval and an extended family of nieces, nephews and friends. We are grateful to the special attention Eugenia received from her caregiver of nineteen years: Conchita. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Lightner, Dr. Allen, Dr. Najera and the staff of Doctor’s Hospital for their dedicated care and attention. Visitation will be Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 5pm to 9pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 from Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Holy mass will commence at 8:30 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
