Gilberto Sanchez, Sr. 84, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007. Mr. Sanchez, known to all who knew him as “El Vinagre” was a very caring, loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents: Faustino (Felix) Sanchez, brother: Alejandro Sanchez and sister: Ofelia Esparza. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his wife: Wenceslada Sanchez, children: Maria De Carmen (Heberto Jaime) Leal, Elvia Alicia (Jesus) Casso, Griselda (Gilberto) Sanchez all of Laredo, Gilberto (Michelle) Sanchez, Jr. of Brownsville, Roberto Sanchez and Lillian Sanchez of Laredo, 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, sister: Estela Cardenas. Mr. Sanchez will be greatly missed. Visitation was Thursday, April 19, 2007 from 4pm to 9pm at Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral services were held Friday, April 20, 2007 from Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home to San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church. Holy Mass was celebrated at 9am. Interment followed to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home, 802 Coke St.
