It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria Peña, she peacefully departed this world on August 25, 2023, in Laredo, Texas, at the age of 71.

Born on January 9, 1952, in Laredo, Gloria was a cherished daughter, mother, and grandmother. Throughout her life, Gloria emanated warmth, kindness, and compassion to everyone she encountered. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Victor Peña and Diana Torres; brother, Gilberto Peña, and Oscar Peña.

Gloria is survived by her beloved daughter, Cynthia Dolores Peña, and her devoted sons, Gilberto Peña (Leticia), and Gerardo Oscar Riojas (Rosemary); grandchildren, Edgardo Salvador Benavides Jr. (Ileana Castillo), Alexis Peña (Jose Luis Bautista Gonzalez), Eliud Benavides, Ashley Peña, Gerardo Riojas, Ricardo Riojas; great-grandchildren, Angel Benavides, Elijah Benavides, Anaeli Benavides; as well as numerous other family and friends.

The Peña family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Nieto Funerals & Cremations from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will commence at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will continue on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church where a Mass will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
