Ignacio Valadez, 66, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 7, 2014. Mr. Valadez was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 9, 1948. He was a United States Army veteran and he worked for the United Independent School District. Mr. Valadez is preceded in death by his parents; Macedonio Valadez and Maria Guevara. He is survived by his wife; Lidia Valadez; children, Camelia Valadez, Cristina (Fernando) Benavides; step children, Francisco Javier (Esmeralda) Gonzalez, Araceli (Armando) Rojas, Maria Antonieta (Arturo) Coria; grandchildren, Alexis Michelle Garcia, Ryan Christopher Aguilera, Jayden Christen Aguilera, Mauricio Perez, III, Janelle Briana Perez, Fernando Benavides, III, Krista Benavides, Jody Gonzalez, Eddie Gonzalez, Francisco Gonzalez, Cristopher Gonzalez, Armando Rojas, Whitney Rojas, Janet Rojas, Alejandro Rojas, Omar Arturo Coria, Daniel Coria and Kevin Coria; mother of his children, Cristina Flores; siblings, Alberto (Eva) Valadez, Elma (Gomercindo) Gonzalez, Mary Ann (Juan) Hernandez, Reynaldo (Sandy) Guerra and Ralph Guerra; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, from the funeral home to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Interment will follow immediately in the veterans section of the City Cemetery. Mr. Valadez will be buried with military honors provided by the United States Army flag detail and the local American Legion Post 59. Pallbearers will be: Fernando Benavides, Jonathan Gonzalez, Francisco Gonzalez, Mauricio Perez, Jordy Gonzalez and Jorge Silva.
