James McCalib, age 79, passed away on March 10, 2007. Mr. McCalib was born on June 10, 1927, in Laredo, TX. He served 2 years in the Army and 32 years in the Army Reserve where he retired as a S/Sgt. He worked as a Security Guard for the Laredo National Bank and for UETA. His two stepsons precede him in death: Antonio and Gerardo Saenz; his brother-in-law, Jose J. Arce, Sr. His wife, Margarita McCalib, of 37 years, survives him. His families-in-law Benilde Soto (+Jose) Arce of Laredo; Blas (Dora) Arce of Laredo; Pedro (Elida) Arce of Banquite, TX; Miguel (Lila) Arce of Robstown, TX; and Susana (+Ricardo) Lozano of Tenn; beloved niece, Yvet Michelle Arizola of Laredo; beloved nephew and godson, J.C. Arce of Laredo; and numerous nephews, nieces and godchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 12, 2007, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm at the Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Catholic Cemetery.
