Obituary For John A. Snyder

John A. Snyder, 76, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Adela Mendoza Snyder; parents, John and Sophia Snyder; sister, Deborah Portman.

John was a graduate of Martin High School, a gifted high school baseball player. After high school he attended the University of Virginia. He taught at Laredo College, Christen Middle School and TAMIU. He loved writing, both prose and poetry, and wrote articles for LareDOS as well as pieces for the Laredo Morning Times.

He is survived by his son, John A. Snyder III; brother, Robert Snyder; as well as many other family members who will greatly miss him.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with visitation starting at 9:00 am at Christ Episcopal Church for a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.

Cremation services will occur at a later date.

His son requests that donations be made to Christ Church Episcopal and Laredo College.
