Obituary For John Anthony Chandarlis

John Anthony Chandarlis, 81, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, December 13, 2018. Mr. Chandarlis proudly served in the United States Air Force for 28 years, where he received numerous medals and awards. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 years. Mr. Chandarlis loved hunting, fishing, golfing and the outdoors. He had a love for barbequing with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke.

Mr. Chandarlis is preceded in death by his parents; Anthony Chandarlis and Rosa De Los Santos Chandarlis, siblings; George, Frank, Tom, Tula, Stanley, Teddy, and Charles.

He is survived by his wife; Elma Ramirez Chandarlis, children; Cynthia Y. Chandarlis, Linda Jo (Gus) Perez, Brenda Jo (Florencio) Peña, Nancy L. (Roberto) Juarez, Karen K. (Juan) Aguero, and Michael T. (Shanel) Chandarlis, siblings; Angelo (Norma), Elias (Tommy), Elaine (Ralph), and Sophia (George); as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends that will greatly miss him.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 17, 2018, from the funeral home to San Luis Rey Church. Funeral mass will begin at 8:30am. Interment will follow immediately at the Laredo City Cemetery. Mr. Chandarlis will be buried with full military honors provided by the United States Air Force.

    I will miss my fellow postal co-worker and friend. John made my time at the post office more enjoyable with his ability to joke about anything. Thank you, John for that.
