Jose Abel Rodriguez, 52, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2014. Mr. Rodríguez was a keen construction worker. He worked for Leyendecker Construction for numerous years and for The City of Laredo Waterworks Systems department. Mr. Rodríguez also migrated to Moorhead, Minnesota for more than 20 years every summer to work at the Eugene Kragnes sugar beet farm. He was baptized in the wonderful name of Jesús on August 22, 2010 at the Pentecostals of Laredo Church. Mr. Rodriguez was preceded in death by his father Santana M. Rodríguez, his brother, Santana Rodríguez, Jr., brother Arturo Rodríguez and sister Alicia Rodríguez. He is survived by his wife, Alicia M. Rodríguez, children Isabel Rodríguez, José Abel Rodríguez, Jr. and Isela Rodríguez. His stepchildren whom he loved dearly: Elva Ortiz, Dora (Roberto) Sandoval, Jesus (Nancy) Enriquez, Sonia (Carlos) Capetillo, Maribel (Pedro) Valadez, Cynthia (Jesus Medina) Enriquez, Pearl (Gilberto Gamez) Enriquez, Larissa Enriquez; 28 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his mother, Alicia C. Rodríguez; siblings, Rosa (Gerardo) Gaytán, Ezequiel (Ana M.) Rodríguez, Jesus Ángel Rodríguez, Blanca E. (Randall) McCann, Beatriz Rodríguez, Mauro (Rosa Isela) Rodríguez, Raquel (Alfredo) Méndez, Lea (Eduardo) González, Abraham Rodríguez, Juan José (Sylvia) Rodríguez, and David (Maribel) Rodríguez, as well as his dear friends Julio (Frances) Navarro and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 4pm to 9pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory where a prayer service will be at 7pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014, from the funeral home to The Pentecostals of Laredo Church located at 1820 Boston St. A church service will commence at 9am officiated by Pastor Robert M. Esquivel. Interment will follow immediately at the City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jose Abel Rodriguez Jr., Jesus Humberto Enriquez Jr., Ezequiel Rodriguez, Jesus Angel Rodriguez, Mauro Rodriguez, Abraham Rodriguez, Juan Jose Rodriguez and David Rodriguez.
