Jose E. Alvarez, 55, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2007. Mr. Alvarez graduated from Martin High School in 1972. He was employed at Gas House Fina for numerous years. Upon retirement he worked for Webb County Road and Bridge Department. Mr. Alvarez was preceded in death by his parents: Oscar and Alicia Alvarez. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Tencha (Ray) Olding of Hawthorne, CA, Oscar F. (Isabel) Alvarez of Laredo, Rene (Herminia) Alvarez of Laredo, Maria (Rene) Lopez of Laredo, Jorge Luis (Diana) Alvarez of Laredo, Eduardo (Rosie) Alvarez of Laredo and Victor (Sara) Alvarez of Laredo, 6 nephews, 6 nieces and other relatives. Visitation will Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 4pm to 9pm at Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2007 from Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home to Holy Redeemer Church. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home, 802 Coke St.
