Jose Heriberto "Prieto" Guzman, 63, entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 2, 2016. Mr. Guzman's hobbies were playing his bajo sexto, singing conjunto music and driving his semi truck "La Big Red Phantom".

Mr. Guzman is preceded in death by his parents; Emilio and Maria Guzman, brothers; Gilberto Guzman and Hector Guzman, sister-in-law; Dora Guzman.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years of marriage, Maria E. Guzman, children; Jose Heriberto (Frances) Guzman, Jr., Yvonne (Eduardo) Bernal and Elizabeth (Rigoberto) Reyes, Sr., numerous grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, sister; Vianera (Jose) Cano, brothers; Emilio Guzman, Alfredo (Velma) Guzman, Ramiro Guzman, and Leonel Guzman, sister-in-law; Rosa Guzman; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory where a rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 7, 2016, from the funeral home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 8:30 am. Interment will follow immediately in the City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jose H. Guzman, Jr., Eduardo Bernal, Rigoberto Reyes, Sr., Rigoberto Reyes, Jr., Alfredo Guzman, Ramiro Guzman, Leonel Guzman and Bobby Cano.
