Obituary For Jose Luis Degollado

Jose Luis Degollado, surrounded by his loved ones at his bedside, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 25, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose R. Degollado, Judith Contreras Degollado, and his brother Roy Degollado. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Elva L. Hernandez, his children Janeska Benavides, Jorge Benavides, and Luannie Mason. He had four grandsons and two granddaughters. Among those left to remember him are his siblings Maria, Elsie, Debbie, Jimmy, Richard, Michael, Joe R. Jr, Rudy, Arthur, David, and Danny Degollado, all from San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by numerous family members and friends.

Jose Luis Degollado served his community as a Laredo Police Officer for 30 years. After his retirement, he dedicated all his time to his grandchildren. He was always visible at school functions and sports activities. His grandchildren are eternally grateful, and he will forever be missed. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Arturo and Laura Garza-Gongora for their continuous care.

In lieu of fresh flowers, the family is requesting fresh plants to care for in his memory.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory. A prayer service will be officiated by Pastor Michael Degollado at 7:00 pm.
