Obituary For Jose Luis Palacios
Jose Luis Palacios, 69, entered into eternal rest, Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Jose Luis was employed with the Laredo Independent School District as a Cook 1 where he worked for thirty-eight years until his retirement in 2013. He was involved in sports in which he played softball during the 70's, 80's and early 90's with several teams such as Tanis Rodriguez Softball team along with B52 Club and Banda Brothers Softball Teams. He also played in the Business league with Central Kitchen in which they were crowned Champions during the 1978-1979 season. Chopo was well recognized and respected as an outstanding pitcher during his playing days. Jose Luis will be missed!
Mr. Palacios is preceded in death by his parents; Antonio and Maria Petra Palacios, sisters; Lucilla Palacios and Maria del Refugio Benavides and maternal grandmother; Catalina H. Almaguer. He is survived by his siblings; Noe (Maria Estela) Palacios, Maria Adoracion Palacios, Veronica (Pedro) Amaro and Leticia (Arturo) Flores; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends that will greatly miss him.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 20, 2021 from the funeral home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow immediately at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Pedro Amaro, Jr., Ramiro Amaro, Noe Palacios, Jr., Daniel Ramos, Nasario Ramos, Arturo Banda, Arturo Flores, Jr., and Alejandro Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers will be: Pedro Amaro, Sr., Arturo Flores, Sr., and Antonio J. Ibarra.
Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, 802 Coke St. Laredo, TX 78040. Condolences can be expressed to the family online at www.nietofuneral.com.
