Obituary For Josie B. Sanchez
Josie B. Sanchez, 66, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009, peacefully in her sleep. Born and raised in Laredo, Josie retired from Krogers Grocery Store and then opened up her own business: Herbario San Lazaro. A strong woman, courageous and giving, she was the rock of her family. Josie successfully overcame several life-threatening illnesses over the years, and even as her physical body finally failed, her spirit never wavered. She was preceded in death by her son: Ted D. Sanchez, mother: Josefina Barron, beloved Guadalupe Pena and aunt Elidia Moreno. Josie is survived by her children: Linda Jo (Frank) Santos, Juan Francisco Sanchez, Jr. and Laura Denise (Robert) Velasquez, grandchildren: Kristopher and Jonathan Santos and Alex Velasquez, brother: Gerardo (Naomi) Pena, nephew: Jerry “Henrucho” Montiel, cousin: San Juana (Juan) Velasquez and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2009 from 4 pm to 9 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary recited 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 from Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory to Holy Redeemer Church. Holy mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, 802 Coke St.
