Juan Escobedo, 71, passed away surrounded by his beloved family on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Mr. Escobedo was a devoted husband to Maria Santa Escobedo for 43 years. He was the greatest father anyone could ask for. Sandra Leticia was especially proud of her father. He was also a caring grandfather to his four grandchildren, Oscar, Luis, Cassandra, Alexsandra, and the finest father-in-law to Oscar Flores, Sr. He worked for the City of Laredo Public Works for 30 years as a Cement Finisher Supervisor. He mostly enjoyed taking part in the Lucha Libre and hanging out with the wrestlers friends back stage. He will be greatly missed by his entire family. Mr. Escobedo was preceded in death by his parents; Concepcion and Maria Escobedo; brother-in-law, Guadalupe Cano; sister-in-law, Olga Escobedo. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria V. Escobedo; his adored daughter Sandra (Oscar) Flores Sr.; grandchildren, Oscar Flores Jr., Cassandra Flores, Alexsandra Flores; and Luis Flores; sisters, Leonor Cano and Maria (Rey) Molina; brother, Luis Escobedo; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved friends that will greatly miss him. Visitation will be Monday, November 26, 2012 from 4 pm to 9 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 27, 2012, departing from Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory to San Vicente De Paul Church for a celebration of Holy Mass at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in the Laredo City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Oscar Flores, Oscar Flores Jr., Luis Fernando Flores, Jose Felix Venegas Jr., Jesse Cano, and Nino Alvarez.
