Juan Herrera Vela,71, went to be with the Lord, Friday, January 8, 2010. Mr. Vela was a proud veteran of the Armed Forces of the United States of America Department of the Air Force. He was preceded in death by his father; Nicolas Vela, mother; Delfina Herrera Vela, brother; Nicolas Vela,Jr. and daughter; Chayne Vela. Mr. Vela is survived by his children; Juan Antonio (Yoli) Vela, Guillermo (Lupe) Vela, Sandra (Jerry) Medellin, Jose A. Vela, Olga (Gilbert) Vasquez, Nicolynn Vela, Trina (Mike) Vigil, John (Griselda) Vela, Lorie (Gilberto) Rodriguez, Steven Vela, Peggy (Bryen) Turrigiano, Shane Vela and Jessica Meyers, sisters; Juanita Vela Aguilar and Delfina Siegal, 30 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory with visitation from 9 am to 1pm and a chapel service at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow immediatly to the City Cemetery. Pallbeares will be; John Vela, Steven Vela, Ricardo Vasquez, Gerardo Vasquez, Jr., Pablo Granada, Gilberto Castillo, Gilbert Rodriguez and Michael Vigil. Full military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 59 and US Air Force Flag Detail.
