Juan Ramon Vela, 61, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Vela retired from British Petroleum in Texas City, Texas in 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel (Adelina) Vela. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Vela; children, Juan Ramon (Kristi) Vela, Jr., Gabriel (Yesenia) Vela, Michael (Andrea) Vela, Luis Fernando (Reagan) Vela, Patricia (Luis) Vela, Gabriela (Daniel) Benavides and Gisela (Carlos) Mendoza; siblings, Manuel (Maria Concepcion) Vela, Roberto (Graciela) Vela, Joel Vela, Mario (Miriam) Vela, Anastacio (Diana) Vela, Rosalinda (Santos) Hinojosa, Maria Elisa Hinojosa and Eusebio Vela. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other family members. Visitation will be on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory to Blessed Sacrament Church. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Pallbearers will be: Juan Ramon Vela, Jr., Gabriel Vela, Michael Vela, Luis Fernando Vela, Daniel Benavides, Luis M. Vela and Carlos Mendoza. Cremation services will be held at a later date.
