Obituary For Julia M. Alardin

Julia M. Alardin entered the outstretched arms of our Lord on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the age of 94. She rests now in Christ reunited with her husband Leopoldo Alardin and sons Ismael Luis Alardin and Mario Alberto Alardin. The matriarch of her family and the foundation upon which it flourishes, she is survived by her children; Leopoldo Alardin, Jr. (Laura Barbara Alardin), Victor Alardin, Ana Maria Pena (Guadalupe J. Pena), Norma Aguirre (Melchor “Chale” Aguirre), Martha Aguilar (Javier Aguilar), Federico Alardin (Susan Alardin), and Jose Alardin (Leticia Alardin), as well as 34 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and nine great great-grandchildren.

She retired as a labor and delivery nurse from Laredo Mercy Hospital and was a pillar in the medical community recognized as a caregiver characterized by the now-rare attribute of authenticity. A woman of strength with a heart of gold, she never hesitated to reflect the image of Christ as she helped to care for people wholeheartedly with no expectation of repayment. She is remembered for her hard work, love, humility and dedication to family. She was adored by each of her children and spent the final chapter of her life in their love and presence. While she is missed dearly, her family finds peace in knowing that, through Christ, there are no goodbyes. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” Revelation 21:4.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 9, 2019, from the funeral home to San Luis Rey Church. Funeral mass will begin at 8:30 am. Interment will follow immediately at the Laredo City Cemetery.

Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, 802 Coke St. Laredo, TX 78040. Condolences can be expressed to the family online at www.nietofuneral.com.

She was one of the finest women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She made me feel welcomed into the family and always treated me with respect and care. She was smart, witty, strong, and beautiful. But most of all she was humble and a true caregiver to all. She was the best of mama bears always willing and able to defend her clan from anything and anyone. It was a true privilege and honor to have know her and I shall cherish her gorgeous smile for the rest of my days. To all her loved ones, especially my daughter and Son (Isela and Luis Jr,), celebrate her memory and be grateful with the time you had with her. Manani, please go find Delia and let her know that I'm ok. Love you!
