Kurt Omar Mena, 40, was called to his heavenly home on October 5, 2024. Kurt will be reunited with his beloved son, Sean Brandon, and his paternal uncle, Jose de Jesus Mena, who preceded him in death.
Kurt’s memory will be cherished by his surviving family, his daughter, Gia Zetina Mena; his mother, Dr. Jessie Mena; his father, Sabino Mena, Jr.; his siblings, Erika (Alfonso) Calderon, Sabino Mena III, Michael Keith Mena, Anali Theresa Mena, Jessie Enid Mena; his life partner and mother of his child, Laura Zetina; nephews and nieces, Alfonso Calderon, Jr., Sabino Alejandro Mena, Payten Riley Calderon, Emily Marie Mena; maternal aunt, Delia (Jorge) Escobedo, numerous cousins, and other relatives and friends whom he loved very much.
Kurt was known for his kind spirit, his love for music, his talent for creating his own lyrics and poetry. He was an entertainer and people person at heart. His love of family and friends showed through his love of fellowship, music and prayer. Kurt loved spending his time quoting movies, singing, and making people laugh. His biggest passion, though, was taking care of his daughter and making beautiful memories with Laura. Kurt loved singing and dancing to every nursery song he could for Gia. Kurt’s larger than life personality will be greatly missed by all the people who’s lives he touched and came in contact with.
The family will receive condolences during a visitation on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Nieto Funerals and Cremations. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 9pm with a Prayer Service and remembrances to be shared at 7pm.
