Leonel Benavides, Jr., 41 years of age, entered into eternal rest on January 8, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonel Benavides & Irene Bautista.

Leonel is survived by his children, Ashley Nicole Gonzalez, Brandon Benavides, Leonel Benavides, III, and Osiel Benavides; mother of his children, Clarissa Benavides; parents, Leonel & Rosa Benavides, Sr.; sisters, Lizzet Benavides, and Loreleyn Benavides; nephew & nieces, Shaylin Lizzette, Samantha Lizbet, Leonel Angel, Roselyn Eliane, and Skylar Guadalupe; uncles & aunts, Sandra Benavides, Carlos Benavides, Yanet Benavides, Edgar Benavides, Arturo Rodriguez, Ana Luisa Rodriguiez, Raquel Rodriguez, and Sandra Rodriguez; as well as other family and friends who will greatly miss him.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 5 PM to 9 PM at Nieto Funerals & Cremations. A Rosary will be recited at 7 PM.

The Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Santa Margarita de Escocia Catholic Church at 11 AM. Interment will follow to the Laredo City Cemetery.
