Marcelo Salinas, 80, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014. Mr. Salinas worked at El Mundo Department Store and La Fama Men’s Wear. He was preceded in death by his; parents, Antonio Salinas and Adela S. Vda. De Salinas; brothers, Raul Salinas, Jorge Salinas; and sisters, Angelina Salinas, Guadalupe Salinas, and Maria Luisa Salinas. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Maria Luisa Salinas; son, Gustavo (Jennifer) Salinas; granddaughter, Briana Salinas; sister, Candelaria (Juan) Esparza and Francisca Salinas Vda. De Rangel; as well as nieces nephews and other family members. The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Dr. Milton Haber, Doctors Hospital of Laredo, Laredo Specialty Hospital 2nd Floor staff & Respiratory, Nurses on Wheels Hospice and Globe Home Health. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home and Crematory where a rosary will be held in the evening. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 22, 2014, from the funeral home to Saint Jude Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated in the morning. Cremation services will be provided by Cremation Associates of Laredo. Pallbearers will be Gustavo Salinas, Juan Esparza, Jr., Israel Esparza, Adrian Esparza, Felix Esparza, J.R. Ramirez and Rogelio San Roman.
