Obituary For Maria Bertha Ortiz
Maria Bertha Ortiz, 77, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Ortiz was born in San Luis, Potosi and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. She moved to Laredo, Texas in 1962 to provide her children with a better life. Her greatest pride was educating her seven children, all of whom now have successful careers thanks to her love, guidance, and encouragement. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Maria Concepcion Aquijo Alvarado de Contreras and Eulalio Contreras Mendez; her siblings, Victor Manuel Velasquez Alvarado, Maria Luisa Velasquez Alvarado, She is survived by her children, Raul Medina, Diana (Julio) Cantu, Alma Medina, Martha Laura Medina, Genaro (Maria Del Carmen) Medina, Eduardo (Azeneth) Medina, Nancy Bernal; siblings, Jose Javier Velasquez, Maria Elena Contreras Alvarado; grandchildren, Daniel (Jenn) Galvan, Cristina Alvarado, Valerie Villarreal, Jesus Rogelio Pedroza, Kimberly (Jose Luis) Bernal, Octavio Bernal, Eduardo Medina Jr., Alyssa Bernal, Jennifer Cantu, Ricardo Bernal, Jose Gaytan, Azeneth Elena Medina, Genaro Medina Jr, Mario L. Cardenas Jr, Andres Medina, Omar Medina; and a great grandchild to be, Theodore Bernal; as well as other family members and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory where a rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 from the funeral home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 am. Interment will follow immediately in the Laredo City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Genaro Medina, Eduardo Medina, Julio Cantu, Danny Galvan, Eddie Medina, Jr., Octavio Bernal, Jr. and Ricardo Bernal. Honorary pallbearers are: Mario Cardenas, Jr., Genaro Medina, Jr., Omar Medina, Andres Medina, Chuy Martinez and Ivan Martinez. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to American Cancer Society Relay For Life Webb County. Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, 802 Coke St. Laredo, TX 78040. Condolences can be expressed to the family online at www.nietofuneral.com.

Sentimos mucho la perdida de su ser querido por eso queremos compartir con ustedes el consuelo que Dios nos da mediante las escrituras. Por ejemplo Dios nos promete que eliminará para siempre la muerte, en Revelación o apocalipsis 21:4 dice que "Dios limpiara toda lágrima de los ojos y la muerte no sera mas". Y en Hechos 24:15 dice que "va ha haber una resurrección". Entonces vemos que nuestro creador Jehova Dios muy pronto acabarán con toda maldad y sufrimiento, además nos dice que tiene el deseo de devolverle su la ida a nuestros nuestros seres queridos que hayan muerto.
