Maria De La Luz Romo, 98, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Ms. Romo is preceded in death by her parents; Victor and Maria De Jesus Romo, sons; Benigno Peralta, Juan Bautista Peralta and Bruno Peralta.

She is survived by her children; Maria De La Luz P. (Adolfo) Verdin and Gabriela P. (Ramon) Heard, grandchildren; Juan Elias Peralta, Alejandra Peralta, Anna Lilia Verdin, Adolfo Verdin, Jr., Maria Elisa Crowe, Azucena Verdin, Ramon Heard, Jr., Guillermo Heard, Adriana Heard, Juan Ricardo Heard, Eduardo Peralta, Oscar Gabriel Peralta and Elizabeth Peralta; several great grandchildren; as well as other family members that will greatly miss her.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, January 31, 2022 from the funeral home to San Jose Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow immediately at the Laredo City Cemetery.
