Born on June 21, 1925, Maria Luisa Cruz Pompa was called home to be with our Lord on Monday, September 24, 2007. Preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Liboria Cruz, her brother Manuel Cruz, Jr., her sisters Amparo Estrada and Herlinda Cruz, and by her late husband Carlos Pompa Moran, Maria Luisa is survived by her children: Carlos (Darlene) Pompa, from New Mexico; Jose Luis Pompa, from San Antonio; Ricardo (Sylvia) Pompa, from Laredo; Alfonso (Carmen) Pompa, from Laredo; and Sara Alicia Pompa, from Laredo; her grandchildren: Marco A. (Laura) Pompa, from Laredo; Erika Marie Pompa, Diego Jacob Pompa, and Julian Rodrigo Pompa, from New Mexico; Saralycia (Chase) Hall, from San Antonio; Analaura (Rosendo) Rodriguez, from California; Ricardo, Jr. (Esmeralda) Pompa, from Laredo; Sylvia Patricia Pompa, from Laredo; Ana Laura Pompa, from Chicago; Carlos Alfonso Pompa, and Vanessa A. Pompa, from Laredo; her great-grandchildren: Markie and Ana Lisa Pompa, from Laredo; Bryce, Mason, and Jaxon Hall, from San Antonio; Haelynn, David Isaac, and Katya Rodriguez, from California; Aileen and Aiden Pompa and Mundito Capetillo, from Laredo. She is also survived by her sisters Virginia (Santiago) Paez, Ernestina (Ray) Yeager, Bertha (Pedro) Garcia, Vivi (Gustavo) Molina and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are under the direction of Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home, located at 802 Coke St. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26th, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, September 27th from Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home to San Martin De Porres Church. Holy mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. The Pompa Cruz family would like to respectfully request that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to charity of choice.
