Martha Castro, 71, entered into eternal rest, Tuesday, December 12, 2017. She was in the Laredo Housing Authority for 19 years serving as a volunteer, president of the Colonia Guadalupe, also president of the Central Resident Council. She was appointed by the Mayor of Laredo as a Board Member for Housing Authority of the City of Laredo for 2 years, and she served as a Commissioner. She started working as a Site Coordinator on March 2011 until she retired on December 8th, 2017.

Mrs. Castro is preceded in death by her parents; Salvador Castro and Emilia V. Castro. She is survived by her husband; Valentin Rodriguez, children; Carlos (Margarita) Flores, Marlin (Rafael) Montes, Juan Valentin (Penny) Flores, Rodrigo (Myrna) Flores, and Arlene (Leonardo) Flores, grandchildren; Nadia, Juan, Ignacio, Cristal, Carlos, Jr., Kasandra, Kimberly, Dariela, Irvin, Destiny, Rodrigo, Jr., Bryanna, AJ, Emily, and Alicia; great-grandchildren, brother; Eduardo Garcia; as well as other family members and friends that will greatly miss her.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 15, 2017, from the funeral home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am. Interment will follow immediately at the Laredo City Cemetery.
