Nilda Salazar, 53, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Nilda was born and raised in Raymondville, Texas. She met her beloved husband, Ray, and they married and started a family. She was a dedicated employee of Big Lots, for whom she worked 17 years. Beloved Wife, Mother, Nana, Daughter, Sister and friend will be dearly remembered in the hearts of those who were blessed to share in her earthly journey.

Mrs. Salazar is preceded in death by her father, Alfredo Puga, siblings; Alfredo (Rosa) Puga Jr. and Nelda Rivera.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Salazar, children; Steven (Kimberly) Salazar and Cristina Salazar; grandchildren, Ruben Salazar, Charlee Martinez; mother, Beatrice Puga; siblings; Alfredo Puga, Jr. + (Rosa), Rene (Maria) Puga, Melba Puga, Imelda (Salvador) Villegas, Gilberto (Elizabeth) Puga, Nelda + (Javier) Rivera, John (Susan) Puga and
Maricella (Rey) Hernandez; sister-in-law, Amanda (Kyle) Simpson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Salazar family will be receiving guests on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Nieto Funerals & Cremations from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Cremation service will occur at a later date.
