Oscar Alvarez, 83, passed away Monday, October 15, 2007. Mr. Alvarez is preceded by the death of his parents Eulogio and Hortencia Alvarez and his wife Alicia Alvarez. He is survived by his children: Tencha (Ray) Olding, Oscar (Isabel) Alvarez, Jose Alvarez, Rene (Herminia) Alvarez, Maria (Rene) Lopez, Jorge (Diana) Alvarez, Eduardo (Rosie) Alvarez and Victor (Sara) Alvarez, 12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and brother: Rolando Alvarez. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 4pm to 9pm at Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 18, 2007 from Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Holy Mass will celebrated at 10am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Oscar F. Alvarez, Raul Rene Alvarez, Jorge Luis Alvarez, Eduardo Alvarez, Victor Alvarez and Rene Lopez. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nieto at Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home, 802 Coke St.
