Oscar “Marijua” Ballesteros, 76, loving dad and grandfather, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 12, 2018. Mr. Ballesteros loved being out on the ranch on a “roundup”, a big sports fanatic especially of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching John Wayne movies. He played softball for the city of Laredo in the 60’s- 70’s, was all-star MVP for several years, loved grilling out with family and friends and loved his four-legged friends. Mr. Ballesteros is preceded in death by his father Ricardo Ballesteros and wife Lilia Ballesteros. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sandie (Hugh) Bohne and Oscar “O.J.” Ballesteros Jr; grandchildren, Wesley Shelbrack, Dylan (Kylie) Shelbrack, SSgt. Nick(Bre) Bohne and Jake (Heather) Bohne; great-grandson, Carter Shelbrack; mother: Alicia R. Ballesteros; siblings, Rodolfo Ballesteros, Amador Ballesteros, Ruben Ballesteros, Aurora (Juan Jose) Gomez, Javier Ballesteros, Maria Elena B. (Francisco) Ruiz, Jr. and Rosa (Gilberto) Ramos. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Webb County Animal Shelter or Humane Society. Honoring Mr. Ballesteros wishes cremation services will be held at a later day.
