Raul Malacar - Know to me many years ago as Tio Raul (uncle Raul). Although we lost touch as I entered my adult years I will forever hold close to my heart great memories of our times together. I remember his loud almost thunderous voice but always behind that voice his love. One of the memories I most remember about him takes me back to Sunday mornings. Whether I and my family were visiting or he was visiting I always knew I would wake up to the sound of him whistling and singing as he swept around the house (our or his) all in anticipation for what was sure to be a great family breakfast. Another memory that I hold with great joy is the site of Tio Raul and the other uncles playing a couple of rounds of dominos. Watching them play was like watching craftsmen in their trade, all while all of us kids ran round and round yelling to the top of our lungs. These memories although brief make up years and years of great times spent win the company of my uncle. The memories may seem will be lost with time but with the knowledge I have gained from my study of the Bible, I have come to learn that one day all who have passed away in death will be resurrected. The hope of the resurrection is only possible because God is a very loving and caring father. A passage in the Bible that helps me further embrace this hope is that found in the book of Revelation in chapter 21 verse 4. This scripture explains god's purpose with the following words, - And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." It is because of these words found in the Bible that I am certain that I will one day very soon see my Tio Raul again and remind him that although we grew apart he always held a special place in my heart.
