Raul “Raulon” Fuentes

Raul Fuentes Sr., 71, peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 23, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Raul was born on November 5th, 1948 in Ciudad Anahuac, N.L. Mexico, Municipio la 14. He was a lifelong resident of Laredo, Tx.

"Raulon" as he was lovingly known by all, was a tough man with a heart as big as his stature. He was always willing to give anyone in need a helping hand. He enjoyed the outdoors, tending to his backyard and livestock, working on his trucks, cooking out and spending time with his family. A cookout at "Raulon's" was a weekend staple of his family and friends.

"Raulon" will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his children and grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

Raul was preceded in death by his parents; Isidro and Cecilia Fuentes, siblings; Maria Antonietta Fuentes, Juana Guevara and Jose Luis Fuentes.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years of marriage, Maria Teresa Fuentes, children; Camelia (Ernesto +) Gonzalez, Raul Fuentes Jr., Abraham (Laura) Fuentes, Joanna (John) Leal, Lizandra (Mario) Gloria, grandchildren; Kassandra Toledo, Abraham Fuentes Jr., Klaritza Fuentes, John Leal Jr., Karina Fuentes, Damian Pena, Jessica Leal, Mario Gloria, Raul Gloria, Jenna Leal, Rafael Axel Gloria and great-grandchildren; Abraham Fuentes III, Karolina Molina, Jose Toledo, Kaitlyn Alaniz and Katarina Toledo; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends that will greatly miss him.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, where a rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Friday, August 7, 2020 from the funeral home to Saint Jude Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Interment will follow immediately at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Raul Fuentes, Jr., Abraham Fuentes, Abraham Fuentes, Jr., John Leal, John Leal, Jr., Mario Gloria and Mario R. Gloria.
