Ricardo “Rico” Lerma, 79, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Mr. Lerma served in the United States Army and was a recipient of the Korea Service Medal, National Defense Medal and United Nations Service Medal. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricardo Lerma. He is survived by his wife, Mariana Lara de Lerma; children, Ricardo, Karla, Gabriel, Leticia, Alfonso, Silvia, Lucy, Veronica, Ruben and Raquel; 29 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Emilio Lerma and Jesus Lerma; sister, Nevolena L. Rodriguez; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, November 16, 2012 from Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory to San Luis Rey Church. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 am. Interment will follow in the Laredo City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Ricardo Lerma, Adrian Lerma, Ricardo Lerma, Alfonso Lerma, Gabriel Lerma, Ricardo Lerma, Hugo de la Cruz and Aaron Lerma. Mr. Lerma will be buried with full military honors provided by American Legion Post 59 and San Antonio Army flag detail.
