Obituary For Ricardo Hernandez

Ricardo Hernandez, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at his home in Laredo, TX. He was born January 18, 1939, in Laredo, TX, to Apolonio and Virginia M. Hernandez. Ricardo enjoyed spending time with his friends and having his loved ones close to him. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboy’s fan and had an uncanny ability to reach people in a positive way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Apolonio and Virginia Hernandez; and brothers Leopoldo and David and sisters Hortencia & San Juanita.

He is survived by his sisters, Yolanda H. Freeman and Virginia H. (Alberto) Mata, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.

A special thanks to his caregiver Ms. Sylvia Garcia, for her special care and attention. She had been his caretaker for over 25 years and was considered part of the family.

God, please allow Ricardo to enjoy running free in heaven and to appreciate all the experiences he did not have the opportunity to do so here on earth.

Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, 802 Coke St. Laredo, TX 78040. Condolences can be expressed to the family online at www.nietofuneral.com.

Dearest Tio Richard you are now at peace and I know you are in heaven. It became very apparent to me how many peoples lives you touched when I made my outreach to your contacts. Every person said you were so kind and genuine. Perhaps we missed out on being with you on a daily basis to experience your kind nature, but I am so very proud to hear how well thought of you are in Laredo! Lucky are those that spent time with you over the years. Fly with the angels as you well deserve to....and watch over us.

The Shepherd of my time as a Youth🌙 Thank you Tio for looking for me day and night out, while I was playing with my neighborhood friends street football or Basketball. Thank you for always taking care of me. But you knew this as I always told you thank you every time I visited you. Tio Riche now that your in Heaven with Welita Yaya, I know your Happy because your free to go where ever you want and be where ever you want. Im so satisfied Tio Riche that in the end I was your Shepherd DOG as you witnessed yourself when you summoned me to help you, because they wanted to put you in LA RETAMA. You saw me fight like a Vicious DOG stoping them from Taking YOU TO LA RETAMA. The most satisfying moment was when you told me: GRACIAS BETILLO! THOSE WORDS TIO WILL ALWAYS BE ENGRAVED IN MY MIND. In the end Tio Riche WE WON. Mom said you were resting peacefully on your Couch in your Casita, that you even had a smile. Thank you Jesus🙏 I'm so Satisfied Tio I honored your Wish, of you not going to LA RETAMA.

I love you, Tio. You always kept it short. I don't think I ever heard a complete sentence spoken by you. (You should have been a politician, you would have made a better one than the ones we have now!). Thank you for your love for me and always with a big smile...such a big smile, warm and kind. You cared for our grandmother and never a terrible word, and that is what I will always remember about you. I look forward to seeing you, again. Love, Little Joe
