Roberto Lara Jr. “Gordo”, 47, departed our world on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Gordo was born in Lufkin, Texas and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. Gordo lived his life to the fullest and was loved by many. Gordo was known for his infectious love and a sense of humor that could brighten anyone’s day.

Gordo is preceded in death by his loving dad, Roberto Lara “El Robe”, paternal grandparents Trinidad and Elizabeth Lara, & maternal grandparents Alfredo and Petra Navarro.

Gordo is survived by his beautiful mom Emma Rios (step-dad Gene Rios), his loving children whom he loved dearly Son Roberto Lara III (Darby Bustamante), Daughters Ashley Yvette Lara, Emily Nicole Lara, and Diane Marie Lara, Grandchildren Cordelia and Zachary Lara, Sister Mary Lou Ramirez (Ramon Ramirez) and Brothers Oscar Lara (Elizabeth Garza), Jorge Lara, and Francisco Javier Lara (Cristian Lara).

He is also survived by various nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and a Rosary will be held at Nieto Funerals & Cremations at 7:00 p.m., 3502 US Hwy 83, Laredo, Texas 78046. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the funeral home chapel where a service will start at 10:00 a.m. Interment will then follow to the Laredo City Cemetery.
