Rogelio Almazan, 60, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012. Mr. Almazan is preceded in death by his parents: Hipolito (Paula) Almazan, brother: Homero Almazan, sisters-in-law: Elsa Cadena and Juanita Almazan, and father-in-law: Eusebio Lopez. He is survived by his wife of 23 years of marriage, Gloria L. Almazan, children: Spc. Roy Lee (Spc. Jessica) Almazan and Pfc. Rolando Almazan, grandchild: Xavier Nathaniel Almazan, brothers: Juan Esteban (San Juanita) Almazan and Daniel Almazan, mother-in-law: Manuela Lopez, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mr. Almazan will be greatly missed. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Garza and Lopez Almazan families and would also like to express their utmost gratitude towards their special friends: Olinda Aguero and Dora Ortiz. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory from 4:00pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory to San Luis Rey Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 59 with a flag detail provided by the US Army out of San Antonio, TX.
