Rosa Maria Valdez de Ramirez, 82, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 6, 2013 Mrs. Ramirez was preceded the death by her late husband Leon Ramirez Sr. and her daughter Consuelo G. (Connie)Ramirez. Mrs. Ramirez was former owner of Ramirez Flower Shop since 1929 at 515 San Agustin at the Old Downtown City Market Square. Mr. & Mrs. Ramirez were a legend to our community and have set a great example for their children, that at this moment they are in a time of sorrow. Both have taught their children the love and hard work of life. Mrs. Ramirez was always a giving person, even thou she did not know you, she would offer you a plate of food. She was very playful and brought joy to our hearts; even under medical circumstances. Mrs. Ramirez will always have a place in our hearts. Her children will follow her footsteps and continue with the family business. Their children would like to Thank Dr. R. Nimchan, Dr. Cheema and staff at Hope Dialysis Clinic, Star Ambulance, Torres Home Health, Angel Care Ambulance, Laredo Fire Dept. (Ricky) Ramirez, Leon (Adriana) Ramirez, Jr., Isabel Ramirez, Amado (Mirella) Ramirez, Rosa Ramirez (Alfonso) Delgado, Rafael (Eusebia) Ramirez, Jr. and Gina J. (Teodoro) Dovalina; sisters, Gloria Valdez de Tovar, Rafaela Valdez; brother, Salvador Valdez; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 4pm-9pm at Nieto Funeral Home and Crematory where a rosary will be recited at 7:30pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 10, 2013, from the funeral home to San Francisco Javier Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00am.
