Obituary For San Juana "Janie" Conde Zuniga
San Juana Conde Zuniga, “Janie”, 64, passed away peacefully on January 12th, 2015 after a lengthy and courageous battle with Diabetes. Janie’s full life began in 1950 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, where she was born to Consuelo and Sabas Conde, who owned and operated Auto Servicio Conde. This is where Janie learned hard work lead to a life full of happiness. In 1974, Janie gave birth in Laredo, Texas to her devoted daughter, Mayra Conde, whom she was ever so proud of. Upon joining the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Janie was overjoyed and spoke often of her daughters success. In 1977, Janie and her daughter moved to Houston to follow her passion for baking and became a well known Wedding and Party Cake Decorator. Janie returned to Laredo, Texas, in 1993 to live with her daughter, and in March 2014 she celebrated the birth of her precious Grandson, Austin Joseph Castillo. Janie is preceded in death by her Parents, Consuelo and Sabas Conde, aunt Josefina Pitacua, as well as her brothers, Luis Conde, Arturo Conde, and Ramiro Martinez. Janie was well cared for at the HOPE Dialysis Center and staff where the family would like to say a special Thank You and recognize the outstanding service of Technician Gumaro Vasquez. During the final stages of her battle, a heartfelt Thank You is sent to Briseida and Joe Castillo and the Castillo family, for their warm, loving, and unwavering support as Austin Joseph Castillo’s proud Grandparents. Janie is survived by her Daughter, Mayra Conde, her Grandson, Austin Joseph Conde, and Consuelo Zuniga Martinez, Rodolfo Zuniga Martinez, Eva Zuniga Martinez, Homero Zuniga Martinez, Carmela Martinez, and nieces and nephews, her family residing in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas and Laredo, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2015, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory where a rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm. Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, 802 Coke St. Laredo, TX 78040. Condolences can be expressed to the family online at www.nietofuneral.com.
