Sergio Butanda, 69, entered into eternal rest, Monday, June 28, 2021. Mr. Butanda is preceded in death by his mother Alicia Vela Butanda and son Mario Ignacio Butanda.

He is survived by his; partner, Sarah Leticia Idrogo; father, Leon Butanda; children, Sergio (Maria) Butanda, Jr. and Juan Butanda; grandchildren, Juan Melendez, Alfredo (Guadalupe) Melendez and Rolando (Liliana) Melendez; siblings, Feliza (+Eloy) Juarez, Dora Ybarra, Marylou De La Rosa, Rosa Almanza, Enrique Butanda, Jackie (Albert) Guzman and Maria Teresa (Mario) Robles; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends that will greatly miss him. Sergio loved a good book, the great outdoors, and being present in the lives of others.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 4, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, July 5, 2021 from the funeral home to Santa Rita De Casia Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow immediately at the Santa Fe Ranch in Rio Bravo, Texas.
