She is preceded in death by her sister, Maria Romero; maternal grandparents, Rose Ofelia Fuentes and Gregorio Martinez; paternal grandparents, Ramon Romero and Maria Guadalupe Torres; nephew, Osvaldo Martinez Jr.; cousins, Enrique Escobedo, Jose Humberto Romero Jr., and Cindy Lopez; nephew, Leonardo Elizondo; aunts and uncles, Jaime Martinez, Osvaldo Martinez, Gregorio Martinez, Antonio Romero, Humberto Romero, Blas Romero, Susana Romero, Aracely Candanoza and Rosa Ofelia Martinez.

Sylvia is survived by her parents, Crescencio & Silvia Romero; husband, David Garcia; children, Eliseo Bernal Jr. (Olga Lydia Ortiz), Albert Bernal, and Maria Guadalupe Romero; grandchildren, Eliazar Bernal and Lydia Arely Bernal; siblings, Ramon Romero, Brenda Romero (Paul Archulera), and Jose Romero (Iliana Alvarez); as well as other family and friends,
