Victor Hernandez, 88, died peacefully at his home during a nap on May 13, 2008. Victor was known to friends in Laredo and Nuevo Laredo as “El Charro”. He retired from the University Of Houston Groundskeeping Department and his heart was in his music and instruments. He was preceded in death by; his parents, two brothers, 3 sisters and his son, Victor. He is survived by his wife, Amparo Hernandez; daughter, Stella Cox and son Joe I. Hernandez from Chicago; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one brother and 3 sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 from 5 to 9 pm at Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary recited at 7 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Nieto Dickey Funeral Home & Crematory with a chapel service at 9 am. Interment will follow to the Catholic Cemetery.
