Obituary For Victor Hernandez

Victor Hernandez, 88, died peacefully at his home during a nap on May 13, 2008. Victor was known to friends in Laredo and Nuevo Laredo as “El Charro”. He retired from the University Of Houston Groundskeeping Department and his heart was in his music and instruments. He was preceded in death by; his parents, two brothers, 3 sisters and his son, Victor. He is survived by his wife, Amparo Hernandez; daughter, Stella Cox and son Joe I. Hernandez from Chicago; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one brother and 3 sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 from 5 to 9 pm at Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary recited at 7 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Nieto Dickey Funeral Home & Crematory with a chapel service at 9 am. Interment will follow to the Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home & Crematory 802 Coke St. Dad, your spirit lives in every accordion tune.

    Uncle Victor, I know you are in a better place and will be missed especially by Tia, Stella and grandson's. When I was a little girl you would show me how to play the accordian. That was a great childhood memory and I thank you for it. I know you will unit with daddy to play and sign all the songs you want! Love - Muneca
