Obituary For Victoria M. Gonzalez

Victoria Gonzalez peacefully transitioned to join her Heavenly Father on Friday, July 24, 2020. She was a woman of strong faith and commitment to family. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she blessed.

She worked at Central Drug for over 30 years before working at the LISD Division of Operations from where she retired.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel Moreno and Delfina Rodriguez Moreno; her sisters, Manuela (Jesus +) Ibarra, Juana (Jose Felix +) Martinez, and Beatriz Moreno; her brothers, Francisco (Juanita +) Moreno, and Macario Moreno, nephew Mario Moreno, and niece Marina R. Garza.

Left to honor her memory are her daughters, Dr. Veronica Martinez (Eugenio Amaya), Elizabeth (Armando) Mata, and Araceli (Carlos) Almazan. Her grandchildren, Armando Gabriel Mata, Fidel (Cortez) Martinez, Kimberly Herrera, Carlos Raul Almazan, and Khloe Almazan. She is also survived by her sister, Santos Juana (George) Hill and her daughters Patricia Martinez, Sylvia Tapia, Diana Stewart-Hill and their families. As well as nieces and nephews, Lupe Moreno, Armando (Susie) Moreno, Juan De Dios Moreno, Jose (Diana) Moreno, Terry (Greg) Moran, and their families. She will be fondly remembered by other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nieto Funeral Home & Crematory, where a rosary will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, July 31, 2020 where a chapel service will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow immediately to the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Armando Mata, Jr., Carlos Almazan, Fidel Martinez, Carlos Raul Almazan, Eugenio Amaya, and Armando Moreno. Honorary pallbearers will be Armando Gabriel Mata, Juan De Dios Moreno, and George Hill.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the family kindly asks all those wishing to express their condolences in person, to maintain a safe personal distance from the family and those in attendance. The family also understands if individuals prefer to leave their condolences online. We appreciate your prayers and friendship.
